About the course:
Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), which is a premier training, educational and research institute under the Indian Space Research Organization, Department of Space, Government of India, was established for capacity building in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS. Urban and regional studies and environmental modelling. Several short term and long term capacity building programs are being conducted by the institute in the campus. MOOC’s training materials, which include special video sessions, 2D and 3D animations, SCROM packages, lecture notes and presentations in the form of study aids, are provided by internationally known experts.
Course Objective:
The main goal of this course is to increase the awareness of users, researchers and professionals about the use of geospatial data in various aspects of urban studies and modelling.
target participants
Urban and regional planning professionals, as well as students and researchers in these fields, as well as those with an equivalent degree or specialization, are targeted for this course. Participants from both domestic and international countries can register for this course for free.
The course will begin with an introduction to geospatial applications to urban and regional studies, fundamental master plan concepts and smart city concepts, before moving on to specific lectures on various aspects of urban studies and modelling. 13 talks are scheduled, each lasting about 10 hours. Each lecture will last from 20 to 60 minutes. Each lecture will also include a list of readings, including book titles, journal articles, and online tutorial links. Four to five objective type questions will be used to assess and evaluate each lecture.
