Satellite remote sensing has become one of the most important technologies for global observation
Atmosphere. Satellite remote sensing has provided major advances in understanding weather, air quality and climate. There is increasing interest among researchers and the scientific community on the use of satellite data to study various atmospheric phenomena such as monsoons, fogs, tropical cyclones and air pollution episodes. The course will provide an overview on retrieval of atmospheric parameters from satellite observations, fog monitoring, rainfall monitoring using VIS/IR and MW sensors, types of air pollutants, episodes of air pollution, monitoring of air pollution, Tropical cyclone tracking etc. The course is therefore of particular interest to interested professionals, researchers and students. Who can apply?
The candidates who want to attend the course must be a student of final year of undergraduate course or postgraduate course (any year). Technical / Scientific staff of Central / State Government / Faculty / Researchers from Universities / Institutes are also eligible to apply for this course. The participants’ applications should be duly sponsored by the University/Institute and forwarded through it.
